Videoconferencing

In the early days, videoconferencing was always spelt as one word.  Gradually over the years most manufacturers and suppliers began to spell it as video conferencing.  However a simple web search will reveal a variety of results with videoconferencing spelt both ways. Telepresence is the term to describe, HD multi screen, high bandwidth videoconferencing to create an immersive experience. Already many videoconference manufacturers are adopting this term for their high end products and it is likely in the next couple of years that the terms telepresence and videoconferencing will become interchangable amongst users (if not manufactures!).

Videoconference

The same is true for videoconference, which is now more often spelt as video conference.  However a videoconference meeting has many other names to.  It can be refered to as a video link, virtual meeting or video meeting.  Recently the term 'unified communications' as become popular to describe the varity of real-time communication services including instant messaging, videoconferencing, speech recognition and faxing.  Indeed it is not a single product, but a set of products that provides a consistent unified user interface and user experience across multiple devices and media types.
